Mustard Seed Kids get pampered

Recently our Federico Outreach Manager, Tammy L., and a handful of our cosmetology and barbering students took a trip to visit the Mustard Seed School. They gave the children haircuts and new hairstyles for their upcoming school portraits.

Mustard Seed is a part of the Sacramento Loaves and Fishes program. The school provides a safe, nurturing environment for children whos families are currently homeless. They also supply clothing, medical and dental screenings, counseling for children and their parents, and so much more.

This isn’t our first time working with the Mustard Seed kids. They are frequent visitors at our campus, usually coming every few months to receive cuts and new hairstyles. We were very lucky to have been welcomed to their school to see the children in their school environment and how the program works.

Our barbering students gave the students trims and fades. Some of the kids even got some cool design work. Our cosmetology students straightened, curled and braided the students hair. Being able to provide these services for the Mustard Seed kids was such an amazing feeling. Our students had the best time and are excited to go back!
